Easy Do-It-Yourself Banner Design
Learn how to make your own website banner or custom graphics using Microsoft Paint!
1. Save the banner or graphic template that you would like to design to your personal computer.
2. Proceed to open Microsoft Windows Paint. [ Click "Start" then "All Programs" then "Accessories" then on "Paint". ]
3. Next, open the banner graphic of your choice. [ Click on "File". Next click on "Open". ] This will open all of your computer files. [ Click on "Pictures" to open all graphic files. ] Then click the banner you would like to use.
4. Now you may add text to your banner. [ Click on the text icon, the letter "A", then click on the banner graphic to type in text. ] You will notice that a small text box appears when clicking on the banner graphic. Type the text that you would like to appear. You may also change the text color, font and size to suit your needs.
5. If you would like to change the text color, simply click on a color located at the top of the program.
6. You may want to change other text attributes such as font type and size. [ Click on "View" on the top between "Edit" and "Image" then click on "Text Toolbar". ] Now you may further customize your text.
7. The text box that appears to display text may have a solid background but this can be changed to appear transparent. [ Click on the lower box of the two that are displayed in the gray area under the shapes. ] After doing so, you will notice that the text you have typed now has a transparent background to blend with your design.
8. The text box can also be moved. [ Click and drag on the text box outline which appears dashed with white and blue lines. ] This action will move the text box so you can place your custom text where you like. Be extra careful not to click outside of the text box until you have your text exactly the way you would like it, because after clicking outside of the text box no more changes to the text may be made. You may add as many text boxes as you like.
9. You will notice many other options that Microsoft Windows Paint has available. Add what you like to your banner.
10. Now, save your custom banner. [ Click on "File" then "Save As" then name the graphic what you would like. ]
Do not save over the original graphic or you will not be able to use the original graphic again! Have fun & God bless!
